TTG Consulting

While I’m happy to answer the occasional question via email, sometimes you may have more than one or two questions or you need more in-depth help. That’s where one-on-one consulting comes in. This can be done over the phone or via email.

What I can help with:

  • Backlight settings
  • Site design setting
  • Site setup and migration from earlier versions
  • Help implement phplugins
  • Design tweaks using custom  css
  • Help with custom html
  • Implement some jQuery solutions

What I can’t help you with:

  • Writing any Javascript or php
  • Most server issues

How consulting works

If you have one or two quick questions I can often solve your problem or get you on track with one email. I offer this for free just because I like helping people.

If you need more in depth help (or if your first email starts turning into a series of emails) that’s when we can move into the realm of consulting. Send me an email outlining what TTG products you have, and what you want to do with your site. Include a link to your existing site, if you have one.
I’ll tell you right up front if it’s something I can help you with or not. If I can do some things for you but not others, I’ll tell you that too.

My basic one-on-one consulting fee is $75 US per hour. This includes any time we might spend talking over the phone and/or time I spend working on issues and responding via email.

Once you decide you’d like to continue with one-on-one consulting, payment can be made from the Donation Link in the sidebar to the left. Basically you’ll be pre-paying. Minimum amount of time is one hour, whether it takes me an hour or not. (If I spend less than an hour, you’ll have “time credit”). You could start by pre-paying for an hour ($75) and we’ll see how it goes from there.

I am not a programmer or coder. Everything I’ve learned about web coding is a direct result of buying The Turning Gate Lightroom plug-ins all those years ago and wanting to customize my own site. So I’m pretty much self-taught. If I can’t help you, I’ll refer you back to the forum or directly to Ben or Matt (the developers).

Disclaimer: I have no financial affiliation with The Turning Gate and I’m not on the development team. I am forum moderator and a beta tester. As a beta tester I receive all versions and updates of Backlight and all modules.
